Looking for ways to hang unframed art, or stop pictures from leaning away from the wall? Two new accessory items are here to help!
Our new ZigZag Hangers offer an easy option for artists, teachers, parents, and others in the Gallery System community who want to display lightweight works that are mounted but not framed, and so lack an attachment point for a hanging hook.
These clear, self-adhesive hanging tabs cost just $3.25 for a pack of 10, and attach instantly to the back of matboard, MDF, plywood, and other mounting materials with a maximum total weight of 2 pounds.
Their zig-zag cutout accommodates all Gallery System hanging hooks, and ensures a secure, level hang; positioning the upper edge about 1.5 inches below the top of the artwork will keep the hanging hook hidden.
Note that the adhesive on these hangers is quite strong; it should be considered permanent on softer materials like paper, fiber, and foamcore. More advice on hanging unframed art is available here.
For framed works, we’re introducing another small but helpful item: Clear Picture-Frame Bumpers. They’re handy when a picture is leaning away from the wall — simply affix to the artwork’s bottom rear corners, and they move the lower edge outward, reducing the angle of lean.
They’re made of a supple material that provides added hanging stability but won’t mar your walls. And they’re just $2.45 for a sheet of 10.
